Global Lockdown - A dystopian relic serie

Branding, 3D, UI & Motion Design/AR.

During the Covid-19 lockdown in 2020, I embarked on a personal project to document my experiences and reflections. With no clear end in sight, I aimed to create a log book that could potentially serve as a historical relic of this time. These entries would offer a glimpse into one person's thoughts during the pandemic and become a record of a defining moment in history.

Story

What if the Covid-19 pandemic were to persist for decades? In this imagined future, remnants of the pandemic would have become historical artifacts, studied and remembered as a defining moment in our collective history. The artifacts, symbols of a time of fear, uncertainty, and resilience, would stand as testament to the strength and resilience of humanity in the face of adversity. They would be a reminder of how far we have come and how much we have overcome, serving as a source of inspiration and hope for future generations.

Branding & Material

For the branding of this project, I opted to use my personal logo, giving the project a private corporation and government/militaristic feel. I wanted to evoke a futuristic aesthetic while also incorporating elements of a damaged, post-apocalyptic world.

The color palette of arctic white, black, chrome, and glowing red lighting was chosen to enhance the technological, sci-fi vibe of the project. The overall aesthetic reflects the concept of relics from a distant future, salvaged from a world forever changed.

Relics

Every relic in this project will feature a consistent camera setup for the main shot, which will be complemented by a close-up shot of the most intriguing/best aspect of the object.

To go further

The project was documented on Instagram in real-time on a daily basis, generating excitement among followers who eagerly awaited each relic drop. However, I wanted to explore other possibilities for sharing the project. That's when I thought of imagining an app.

This app would allow for a more immersive and interactive experience for viewers, providing additional information and perspectives on each relic. By transitioning from social media to a dedicated app, the project would have greater potential for engagement and exposure, reaching a wider audience and solidifying its place as a significant historical record.

The app would feature a user-friendly interface that would allow for easy navigation and exploration of each relic. Additionally, I wanted to include an augmented reality feature that would add an interactive element and enhance the overall experience. Despite my desire to bring this concept to life, I am limited by my lack of coding skills, so I have left it as an imaginative idea.
